Mixer Telephone Survey

Feeling chatty? You can earn extra cash in your spare time just by talking on the telephone - really! The Mixer Telephone Survey is an academic endeavor supported by  research fellows, professors and other academicians at the University of Pennsylvania. These studies, which involve speaking on the phone, specifically focus on linguistic research, technology development and education.

The Mixer Telephone Study, part of the Linguistic Data Consortium at UPenn, is periodically conducted and recruits individuals to speak fluently in their native tongues on the telephone. Typically, you will be speaking to a stranger in English or another specified language for approximately 10 minutes. The researchers will brief you on the call objectives and provide you will goal-oriented topics on which to speak about with the paired person. After your phone call, you may be required to complete a free survey, often a free online survey, about the experience.

If you are interested in joining Mixer Telephone Study, you can sign up via the website through a short online survey asking your contact information and language of choice. During each iteration of the study, you are allowed to make and get paid for up to 15 phone call academic experiments. Just by chatting away on the telephone, sharing your opinions with a stranger, and taking online surveys if required you can earn up to a total of $250 dollars.
